We have 3 detached houses, 3 apartments in the main building and 4 unique glamping sites. All accommodations have at least 1 separate children’s bedroom but the baby crib always fits in the room with mom and dad as well. Roomy enough!
One of the accommodations has a cork floor, great for the kids to play on. With babies we always recommend the cottages or apartments, with toddler and preschoolers the glamping accommodations are also very popular. The terraces provide plenty of privacy. Some overlook the pool, others the playground.
Besides, we speak the language and know our way around, so should you be concerned about your baby’s health, you are not alone. A safe feeling.
Enjoying your vacation in Portugal with a relaxed and happy baby
Babies enjoy the vacations at Quinta das Cantigas from many little things. This makes the baby relaxed on vacation in Portugal.
Present toys in the cottage or on the (common) terraces, a house cuddly toy as a friend in bed, water fun in the spacious 10 cm shallow area of the heated and (sometimes) covered children’s pool, watching guinea pigs and goats, and so on.
Already many first steps have been taken here in the Portuguese sunshine, on the lovely shaded areas, on the spacious private terraces or in our large play hall.
For convenience, we have a play rug, bouncer, crib, changing pad, plastic plate and cutlery, baby bath, etc. for the little ones.

Boating on the water track by the pool, playing with mom and dad in the 50 cm deep and heated children’s pool or already a trip to the real deep pool, exciting!
Feeding the animals, petting the dog and cat, playing in the sandbox or in the play forest. Ball or scooter in the arcade, climb and fish in the playboat. Too many to mention.
The 10 accommodations are scattered in nature across the spacious 10,000m2 grounds. Around every bend, something different can happen for toddlers and preschoolers.

At the vacation park Quinta das Cantigas in central Portugal, not only the baby enjoys vacations, but also the parents. That is what the originally Dutch owners Maurice and Sandra made sure of. From their own vacation experience with 2 now grown kids, they know what they have often missed this themselves with small kids. So it was a major focus in the creation of the holiday park.
Heated and covered pool especially for babies, small kids and their parents
At the vacation park Quinta das Cantigas you can enjoy not 1 but 2 permanently sustainable heated swimming pools. One is more of a play pool with a “baby splash sitting depth” of 10 cm on one side and “toddler fun depth of 50 cm” on the other. The other pool is the “deep one.”
Both pools are covered and are opened (partially) depending on the weather. So you can play well out of the wind or prevent too strong sun exposure while the kids play in the warm water. The water stream and water toys complete the fun. The parents often sprawl out by the playing kids in the warm water. Also theJacuzzi and Sauna are great to relax for a while.
Indoor and outdoor play and sports facilities at the vacation park Quinta das Cantigas
Vacation park Quinta das Cantigas is distinguished by its many free indoor and outdoor play and sports facilities.
With the toddlers you can go on the miniature golf course, the toddlers play marbles on it. With the little ones “play restaurant” or adventure swing in the play forest.
On the trampoline it is great to lie down with the little one or make the first jumps together. The preschoolers are already climbing the treehouse; the toddlers still have legs too small for the steps.
The nearly 400m2 activity hall lets all ages have fun.
There is also a special corner for moms and dads with snooker table, football table, darts, etc. . There are also mountain bike and road bikes and Run, Bike, Hiketrails for the more active dad or mom.
Vacation enjoyment with the whole family in Portugal
Enjoying vacations in Portugal with the whole family. For a young family, taking Grandpa and/or Grandma along is often an ideal combination. That gives some extra help and peace of mind. The baby gets an extra cuddle from grandma, the toddler goes to play ball with grandpa, etc. This way the young parents have some time for themselves and each other.
We have a large cottage with adjacent spacious studio, where grandparents can stay with their own bathroom and privacy. Or the grandparents are in another accommodation at the vacation park under the Portuguese sun. Also nice!
The Portuguese Silver Coast, the ideal vacation destination with baby in southern Europe
Yes, yes, the Portuguese Silver Coast has a real plus as a vacation destination in southern Europe because going on vacation in the south is not always a pleasure with your little baby. It can often be very hot and the heat can linger into the night. Too warm is very unpleasant for babies and their parents. Afternoon naps that don’t work out or not being able to sleep at night (and not from the little one this time).
Fortunately, the climate of the Silver Coast is temperate. Nice weather but not too hot! In the evenings it always cools down considerably, so a good night’s sleep is guaranteed! Similarly, baby sleeps in the cool houses or snug in the shade of a big tree!

How can you be “cold” in southern Europe? In northern Europe, you’re usually used to well-insulated houses and affordable central heating. This is still quite unknown in the South, and therefore also in Portugal or Spain, Greece, etc.
Many vacation accommodations literally leave you out in the cold in the spring and fall.
So not at the vacation park Quinta das Cantigas. Just hit the days when the chill is in the house, all our houses and apartments have heaters, which you may also use (…). Even the bathrooms have heating so that bathing with the little one does not have to be done in the cold.
Is a baby vacation possible without mosquitoes please?
Mosquitoes, flies and wasps are always annoying, at home and also on vacation. We too have periods with more or fewer insects. To prevent, at the vacation accommodations of the vacation park Quinta das Cantigas the windows are equipped with mosquito nets, each bed has a mosquito net and most front doors have a fly screen. So if you pay a little attention, you will prevent itching and scratching in your baby!
With us no “Baby kids club” vacation in Portugal, but being together, doing together!
We do not have a Portuguese version of the vacation “baby kids club” where you can leave your baby all day. Although sometimes this sounds really nice because the baby or toddler can demand all your energy, all day.
We believe in coming together, being together and doing together with your children on vacation. Live in baby’s rhythm, relax with our amenities and enjoy your vacation together. Now that’s what makes your vacation really special.
Delicious food during your Portuguese vacation with baby
On your Portuguese vacation with baby, you can also eat well (out). Vacation Park das Cantigas is located in nature, but not “far away from everything”. A 10-minute drive away is Alcobaça, the Portuguese “city of passion.”. Here, in addition to a historic love story, you will find the stores, supermarkets, many restaurants and terraces. And shopping in a foreign store is always fun
Each accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen where you prepare what your children like, take your own treats to the common terrace or pool. With us, no compulsory purchase in the “honesty bar” is necessary, which is nice.
We also give you the tips for the best restaurants, take away and delivery addresses. When there is enough enthusiasm, we organize a cozy pizza night on the common terrace. By the way, especially with the little ones, go for an extensive lunch at noon, in the evening they do not open until 7:30 p.m. at the earliest. With your baby, toddler or preschooler, you also plan your vacation day in Portugal around nap time. If you want to get away from it all from our vacation park ……
- We have several hiking trails in the immediate area. Take the baby or toddler with you in the baby carrier, back carrier or wagon.
- Or drive to Alcobaça for a short walk through the quaint town. Visit the garden of love, the huge monastery and enjoy the various terraces next to several fun playgrounds. And you get the tip for the best ice creams in town!
- Discover the salt pans of Rio Maior. Nice to look around, terrace and small walk around the saltworks.
- Visit Nazaré to check out the “biggest waves in the world,” you can take a small streetcar up the cliff to the Ford.

- For knights and princesses, go to several great castles in the area – Porto do mos – Leiria – Tomar – Obidos.
- Dolphin watching, take a boat from the port of Nazaré to experience these magnificent animals up close.
- Experience a non-Portuguese situation. The Buda Eden park is full of small and large Buddhas and statues of persons. Toddlers and preschoolers most enjoy the magnificent animals of the African continent, made life-size from a variety of recycled hardware. The park is big and you can me a train around should the little legs not want to.

Let your baby explore thebeaches of the Silver Coast discover. Infinite play with sand and water, it remains a great pleasure. They probably haven’t yet experienced how fantastic our beaches are, so we’ll leave that to you.
Between 20 and 45 minutes’ drive and you are on the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. This one is known for its big waves and strong current. But not only that, we have several beaches with playtime fun for the little ones.
For example, the large shallow bay of São Martinho do Porto with also a mega large dune. Shallow streams spill out onto Vale Furado beach, playing in pools of water left behind on Parades da Vitoria beach. Cozy beach bars for snacks, drinks and especially ice cream complete the entertainment.
And for your visit to the beach, we have available for you: buckets, shovels, umbrellas, windbreak, etc.

Most guests arrive by plane; Lisbon is the most popular airport and is an hour’s drive from the vacation Holiday Park. We have selected some reliable local car rentals with special arrangements to come and pick you up/drop you off.
That way you don’t have to stand in the long line for car rental at the airport, it’s great boarding a familiar shuttle service, and the first few miles in a strange car aren’t immediate in the crowded city. That’s relaxing arriving at the most baby-friendly vacation park in Portugal! Especially after a very early or late flight. Meanwhile, we ourselves rent a fully electric car to our guests.
